2007 Best Invitation & Stationery Design Winner



We are excited to be the winner of the 2007 Canadian Wedding Awards in the Invitation & Stationery Design category. The competition was sponsored by Weddingbells & Wedluxe and judged by the esteemed editors at both magazines as well as one of the world’s most influential event designers, Preston Bailey. Only one submission was selected in each category and was based on innovation and creativity as well as how the specific project met the dreams and needs of the client. This was a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase our best and favourite (although we have so many favourites!) design of the year. We are proud to be considered one of the most inspiring designers in the country and humbled to be in the company of the incredible talent of the winners in the other categories.


The Project


When one of Calgary’s premier wedding planners contacted us to design her wedding invitations we were flattered and excited. With Lynn’s knowledge of the wedding industry, she was really looking for something unique and over the top, something none of her guests have seen before.


The theme of the wedding was “Wedded Bling”. It was an intimate event to be held in the Penthouse Suite at Calgary’s most prestigious hotel. Lynn & Troy wanted each element of the invitation to evoke luxury. We used layers of decadent paper, silk satin ribbon and Swarvoski crystal jewels. Each invitation was packaged in a silk lined silver box. The icing on the cake was a large pink glass diamond set on top of the invitation on the box. Each “jewelry box”was personalized with the guests name and hand delivered, making them feel honoured to be invited to this event.
